Finding a Crewing
Position
| Passport and Visa |
It is an Indonesian
immigration requirement that your passport must have six
months validity from your expected date of arrival in Indonesia
Indonesia's
Immigration Regulations were changed on 1 February 2004 in that with
the exception of citizens from some South East Asian Countries you
will need to purchase a 30 day Visa On Arrival when you arrive in Bali
or Kupang which will cost
$25 US. If you are planning to stay in Indonesia you must purchase a Social Visa from
the Indonesian Consulate in Darwin for $60 AUD.

| Obtaining a Berth |
There may be
yachts requiring crew for Kupang or Bali. Skippers usually wish to meet prospective crewmember
on a person to person basis, to
assess sailing skills, ability and compatibility with the rest of the crew.
You should be available
here in Darwin prior to the race to make your own arrangements. Many persons who have done this in
past years have found berths in this way. Most visiting yachts arrive here 2 to 3
weeks prior to the race start and that is the period when crewing positions are generally
filled. |
